Three cheers for Rahul! He was able to find the problem with my lost data and restored it. So, I have my blog again. He said it was a simple fix, but I wouldn’t have never figured it out. I had pretty much given up and had made my peace with being semi-blogless.

April 29, 2008 at 9:13 amI have to also thank for the offer of help from Doug, too. He was ready to jump into the thicket of WordPress to locate and fix the problem. However, by then I had given up.

I asked Jeff if he thought it would be funny if posted my Amazon wish list to see how truly grateful your readers are. He said, “HA! HA! HA! YES!”
So… enjoy!

April 30, 2008 at 4:12 pmCongrats! I imagine you just got pointed to the wrong db during the upgrade or one of those other dbs you showed me had the data. Now are you gonna start backing it up yourself? WordPress can either send you a zip file of all your data, or you can also backup using a tool like phpMyAdmin.

April 30, 2008 at 10:59 pmCheck out all of the personal tech support you are getting! I dunno if Blogger would do that! Perhaps WordPress does rock more! Hmmm…..
YAY for awesome tech support and YAY for getting your blog back! Even if you do decide to hang it up, at least you have re-captured all of the work you’ve done thus far.

May 5, 2008 at 8:14 amDoug, You’re right. The installer he used created a new db and pointed the new installation to the new db.
