Today is Maya’s first day of middle school. I think she’s okay with this new phase of her schooling, but she’s also kind of sad about not being with the kids she knew in grade school. Since she went to a charter school from 1st to 5th grade, the kids who attended were from all over the area. And that means they are all going to middle schools in different cities and will probably not see much of each other – even though she’s still going to do Girl Scouts.
Anyway, in one of those “Where does the time go” moments, I want to know how Maya went from riding a tricycle…
To piloting a boat…
To striking a pose for the camera (after her friend told her to “pose for the camera”).
I feel kind of old right now…

August 30, 2007 at 5:14 amMom, you did buy her that jacket…when she was born! You didn’t care at the time that it was WAY too big, you had to have it for her. And she got a lot of wear out of it. 🙂
