Bloggers For A Cure

If you’re a regular visitor to this blog, you’ve probably noticed the banner on the top right of the page urging you to help us find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Since April a bunch of wonderful folks who blog mostly about music have banded together to try and get people to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Specifically, we’ve been asking people to donate to a Great Strides walk that is coming up on June 2nd. Why? Well, one of our blogging buddies (Scott Malchus at Thunderbolt) has a child with CF, and we wanted to do something to help out with CF research so they can cure this chronic condition.

I’ve been unsuccessful in my efforts to get the prizes I wanted to add to the already great list of stuff you can get (if you drop a little cash in the bucket). However, I decided to use the power of the media (both mass media and podcasting) to spotlight what we’re trying to do. So, I put together a public affairs show that featured Scott, Jeff Giles (AKA “Jefito“), and the executive director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Northern California Chapter, Chris Reutz. It’s about 18 minutes in length, so if you decided to download and listen later (like on a commute to work) that would be simply wonderful! The feature aired on KKIQ and KKDV radio (I work for both stations) on Sunday at 6am.

And if you haven’t had a chance to, you know, kick in a buck or two for the cause, please hop on over to Bloggers for a Cure and you and win some great prizes for your contribution!
