Sorry kids, but no Mix Six today. Birthday/moving/life stuff got in the way.Â
And then…
I got a late night call (11pm) last night from a friend of mine I’ve known since high school who told me about a mutual friend who suffered three heart attacks and is now in a coma. Yikes! My friend just broke down and was crying. It was all very upsetting to say the least. I couldn’t really sleep for about an hour after that, and then when I finally did get to sleep the alarm went off at 4am to remind me that my job sucks sometimes.
Blech!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know what’s up, and to also say that I’m sorry I haven’t been a good bloggy friend lately by not commenting on your blogs. It seems it’s just been go-go-go for the past 2 weeks.Â
In music news (and I’ll leave you with this), I got the new Rush CD for my birthday (Thanks J and Maya!), and I think the lyrics from the first single, “Far Cry,” really fit my life right now:
“One day I feel I’m on top of the world/And the next it’s falling in on me/One day I feel I’m ahead of the wheel/And the next it’s rolling over me/I can get back on…”
 Talk you all next week?

May 4, 2007 at 9:40 amSorry about the news, Py, especially on your birthday 🙁 I hope your friend is ok and pulls out of such a horrid situation.
Hang in there, things will get better. That which does not kill us just pisses us off and makes us want to kick ass.
Happy Friday and hope you have a good weekend.

May 4, 2007 at 11:09 amI’m sorry to hear about your bad news. I hope things turn for the better soon!
It’s a good reminder to live life and enjoy it while you can…Like Eric Idle and the Python’s sang:
If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle – that’s the thing.

May 4, 2007 at 12:11 pmI hope everything goes well and he recovers. He is too young for a heart attack.

May 4, 2007 at 2:04 pmI’m sorry PY. I’m not a Rush fan, but the lyrics to that song fit my life as well. Enjoy the CD and we’ll talk at ya soon.

May 4, 2007 at 7:53 pmMan, I’m sorry about your friend. My brother found out a few weeks ago that one of his old friends died of a massive heart attack. I hope your friend pulls through. That is scary how life can just turn on you like that. Good luck with the packing and selling. I’m glad that you got the Rush CD. Hope you get some sleep tonight!

May 4, 2007 at 9:34 pmI’m sorry about the upsetting news, I hope things get better for your friend.
As far as putting a house on the market, I had emailed J that I remember how stressed and panicked we were when we THOUGHT we were going to put our house up for sale, so don’t worry about it! We’ll be here!

May 7, 2007 at 12:04 amPy, Sorry to hear about your friend. It always seems to me that people your age are too young for such things. Hell, people my age are too young for such things.
