I was at work today when I took a bit of time to check my email and on my ISP’s homepage was a link to Michael Richards (AKA Kramer) berating a black guy from the stage of a comedy club.
This couldn’t be right. I mean, it’s Kramer! Wha’ happened?
Sure enough, I clicked the link and saw a guy with a very familar face come unglued after being heckled one too many times.
Comedy is not pretty, but seriously, what’s the point of firing back with such ugly hostility? First Mel Gibson and his fear of Jews, and now Michael Richards harboring a deep racial hatred of black people? I really don’t know what to say…

November 21, 2006 at 7:19 amBeeenzzzzz: I think this is probably the “hot blog topic” for the next 24 hours.
And Ml…I just think he’s a guy who’s not good under pressure. But the fact that it just went on and on…Man oh man.

November 21, 2006 at 8:31 amD. left a great comment on the Michael Richards post this morning. I thought I would share it with you. I agree with him 100%…..
Dont’ worry. A week or two in rehab, the admission of a drug or drinking problem and a nice frank conversation about how he was abused as a child by being made to eat veggies and all will be forgiven. This is, afterall, the wonderful new world of damage control, micro-marketing and image management. These days killing your ex-wife doesn’t kill your career, praising auschwitz won’t get your new movie pulled and telling a black man to get lynched is only a speed bump on the road of success.
I, however, am tired of forgivness. I think there are mistakes that can’t be forgiven. After all what kind of message does it send to let someone so wrong, so perverse be absolved of their sins. Good people need to stand up and say, no more.

November 21, 2006 at 9:18 amMan, that is exactly what I was thinking. I have to say, an apology on David Letterman?? is meaningless.

November 21, 2006 at 9:29 amAnd his apology was pained. He was trying to say how sorry he was and it was clear that it was making him more annoyed.
Next stop in the damage control pipeline is Barbara Walters.
