Life in general, Music

For Rocker Moms and Dads

My co-worker Carolyn sent me an AP* story this morning that was pretty amusing. Seems the folks at Baby Rock Records have found that babies rather like the soothing sounds of Pink Floyd, Metallica, Coldplay, and The Cure as they sit in their cribs being, well, babies.

It’s not the original songs that makes your little one fall soundly asleep. Rather, it’s the lullaby versions of popular classic and alt. rocks songs that puts the “goo” in good — at least from an infant’s perspective.

As the “About Us” section of “Baby Rock Records” says:

“Baby Rock Records transforms timeless rock songs into beautiful instrumental lullabies, sending your little one to a slumberland of sweet dreams. Delicate instruments such as the glockenspiel, vibraphone, mellotron, harp and bells create a soothing atmosphere of sound. These charming recordings are sophisticated enough for everyone to enjoy, yet gentle enough for your little angel. This is cherub rock for a new generation.”

Have a listen to these classics!
