Not So Dead

There are a lot of people who really like the character of Sylar in the TV series Heroes. But when he got a sword thrust into his chest toward the end of the season finale, I was relieved to see that he might actually be killed off.

But…

It looks like he’s coming back next season. Crap!

At first, Sylar was an interesting character, but now he’s become monochromatic bore whose evil intentions are starting to make me groan and roll my eyes when he’s on screen.

Am I alone on this?

  1. We just watched the finale last night, and although I wouldn’t say I’m “sick” of Sylar, I *am* much more interested in that other bad guy that creepy little Molly mentioned…

  2. Molly’s “bad guy” line had me wondering who he is as well. I thought they were going to just end Sylar’s story and pick up next season with the new Big Bad. But…

Ml: I think you’d like the show (if you liked to watch TV, that is).

  3. Yeah, creepy bad guy seemed more interesting to me, too. Sigh. Next is the Lost finale, and then we won’t have ANYTHING to watch. πŸ˜‰

  4. The show’s finale really bugged the crap out of me. I was left so unsatisfied by how everything worked out.

As far as Sylar goes, I like the actor, but the character is waning as far as ability to creep me out.

  5. Everything was great (even the pointless scene with Shaft) until they revealed that Sylar got away. WTF!! You’re telling me that HRG and Mohinder didn’t keep and eye on the guy who a)tried to kill Claire and b)killed Mohinder’s father. And let’s face it, the guy CRAWLED over to a manhole cover, had to pull the thing off, and then had to lower himself into the sewers, while he’s got a gaping wound in his torso… AND NO ONE NOTICED!!! To make matters worse, no one seemed to be worried at the end, either. Very careless on the part of the writers.

I wished they’d killed him. It would have made for a nice clean ending.

  6. At work Slyar is everyone’s favorite. I questioned that and roll my eyes over it. Why??
But I figure he was not dead. After everyone was happy that City did not blow up, the camera zoomed into the dark stain on the concrete leading to the manhole, which was opened somewhat. I though t oh the darn Slyar is going to hang out in the sewer till next season.

  7. Oh, Peter will be back, all right. He’ll be back when you least expect it…

Because that’s the most cliche possible thing to do. Sometimes I think this show exists as a parody of comic books. Then I read the comic books that Jeff Loeb writes, and realize this is how he thinks it’s done. Sadly, I’ve never missed an episode…

  8. I just can’t stand he thought of suffering through another season having to look at his eyebrows! Why, oh why, didn’t they let him be gone! It’s time for a new bad guy, please.
