This, to me, was the funniest segment on SNL this week. Seriously, I was stifling my laugh when this was on so I wouldn’t wake Maya and Julie. You should know that they played these segments at various times during the first hour of SNL, so what you’re seeing is a shotgun version — but that only adds to the funny:

The escalated downward spiral of MacGruber was hilarious! Plus the way the theme song lyrics changed to fit his circumstances was sublime. “Toilet paper is a luxury … MACGRUBER!” “He’s running out of options … MACGRUBER!”

I love the desperation on his face AND his ping pong talent. 🙂
Once MacGruber did the ping pong ball, um, trick, there was nowhere to go but “Boom.”
