Ms. Mamma visited the world of Py Korry to comment on the New Order song featured in this week's "Deep Tracks" selection. Well, one visit deserves another, so I went over her blog and found out that she's purchased some drums as a gift and plans to bang and the drum all day!

I completely understand the attraction to the drums. I've been drumming on and off for the past few years, but it wasn't until I bought a kit like the one pictured below (I have another smalll tom near the hi-hat) and rented a practice space with my friend Ravi that things started getting serious. I don't know where all this drum practicing will lead, but the journey sure is fun!
One of the things I love about drumming is that it feels like I'm meditating. And, in a way, I guess I am. I don't really think about anything except keeping the beat and working on fills. No thoughts about work, no thinking about what to cook for dinner, bills, the need to paint our bedroom…nothing but me and my drums! Ahhhh….:-)
