“Don’t Analyze. Act!”

Yesterday Julie and I had to listen to bumpersticker/Anthony Robbins crap like this from our real estate agent’s boss during a meeting on marketing our house. He said it like 4 or 5 times to us, “Guys…Don’t analyze. Act!” Julie was getting so annoyed with him until she finally said “This doesn’t help me. I have no idea what this means for us.” He finally stopped with the sloganeering and got down to it: he wants us to lower the price of our house to attract buyers. But after reading this article in Salon, I think he wants action from us (i.e., a lower price on the house) so he can get his commission check before the sky falls.

  1. Oy! Real estate dealings can really suck. And do you know the worst thing? You have to pay them so much freaking money to sell your house. It’s insane. And a monopoly that pisses me off.

  2. Hi Py (and Julie)

Read “Freakonomics” and you’ll understand why he wants to cut the price. (It’s pretty much you you figured it, but the metrics are stunning.)

  3. A lot of people swear by this guy. I saw him on QVC once selling his stuff. He had a big booger in his nose, I thought that was very fitting to his product pitch.
