Biking

If you’re a reader to my blog (or are friends with me on Facebook and Twitter), you know that biking (as in bicycling) is one of my passions. I’ve been pretty serious about riding for about five years, but have ridden since my daughter Maya was a very small child and I used to take her for spins on my Schwinn Varsity. When I upgraded to a Fuji Finest AL in 2002, I started riding longer stretches. Well, after 10 years on that bike, I was able to upgrade to an even better bike (Trek 3.1), and it’s made a world of difference in my ability to ride even longer. Anyway, for those of you who like pictures (and really, who doesn’t), I think you’ll enjoy this slide show of…me and biking (were you expecting pictures of cats? If so, may I direct you to YouTube.)

  1. That's a LOT of great pictures of you and your best friend! I have never ridden 30 miles, unless you mean in a car. 🙂 Well, maybe once when I rode to Lodi Lake and back. But I was 16. Go you!

    1. Gotta build up to 30 miles — that's for sure. But it's true. When you're 16, you're built different and can take the milage. Oh sure, you'll pay in sore muscles and maybe cramps, but you'll recover faster, too.
